In 1962 founder of Umut Halicilik our grandfather Hasan Polat started his own business with a few rugs in his possession. In progress of time and with his understanding of work ethics he managed to grow his business
About Us
Thereafter his son, Idris Polat, at the age of 8, the second in generation, joined his father in his free time; in order to support him, and learn the basics of carpet and carpet dealing
He took over the business when he was 15, following his father’s retirement
Eventually, he gained experience and improved himself both technically and socially, then he became one of the most known carpet dealers in Istanbul
Currently, the third generation tradition continuing with the grandson Umut Polat.
